About Me

Allison Schmidt is a young visionary with an eye for design. Her degree is media and communication with a concentration in public relations. She is ambitious, creative, and is always thinking about the future. During her last year of college, she stepped into two leadership roles with Loco Mag and 1853 Communications - student-run organizations. She found herself facing unique challenges that required quick thinking and a creative mindset. While she endured many difficulties, she found that leading two-student run organizations to be rewarding and nothing like she's ever done or will do.

During her time as a leader, she met so many people. She became unafraid to speak her mind, to make impossible jumps, and let her personality show. Strangers became friends and friends became family. It became important to her to always make sure that people knew their worth, to make a lasting impact, and to build unbreakable connections.

Running the Media and Communication department's main Instagram page allowed her to do all of this. For a semester-long project, Allison produced original content targeted to multiple audiences. Old graduates, recent graduates, current students, and professors of the major connected over the content that was filmed for the Media and Communication department. The produced content consisted of a wide variety of posts like heartfelt interviews, funny and informational posts. This inspired Allison to continue to work in the public relations field, though she is always willing to explore any opportunity that comes her way.

The opportunities could be anything. School isn’t the only thing she is passionate about. She loves yoga, reading, writing, hiking, food, cooking, baking, and traveling the world. One of her favorite places in the world is Barcelona, Spain. She always loves to try new things and gain new experiences. That means saying yes to any opportunity that comes her way. In her mind, there is nothing worse than living life with regrets.
